These are posts taken from the forum and replicated here so non forum members can see the name of this person who books an exhibition and runs away without paying the people he booked, we hope that this saves his next victim money

The said darts exhibition was with Dennis Priestley at Wrexham AFC and for the Wrexham Old Boys booked through John “Driff” Driffield.
The old boys and Wrexham AFC have been superb in all of this and can in no way be blamed for anything that has happened. It was actually a pleasure meeting them and they are as appalled as I am by it all.

After a days notice of a change of date from Friday 18th March to last Friday, I was a little concerned that this exhibition may not take place and was offered a Hypnotist show elsewhere so contacted Driff to make sure it was definitely on or I would take the hypno booking if not, I was assured it was but still felt a bit nervous about it so told him he had to pay up front which he agreed to. Well after so many phone calls and excuses about problems with the bacs transfer etc ( I have screenshots from FB to prove his promises about the money being sent ) my Hypno show was lost so I thought sod it I will still go and that way I have completed my contract and in the eyes of my union Equity had to be paid.
Matt from MDA who I was originally doing the exhibition with was now unable to make it so I employed John Peakman from Diamond Darts to supply the stageset etc.
We arrived to be met by John and he could not have been nicer to us, he introduced the Chair (Nick) of the old boys to us and seemed well known in this circle. I mentioned money and he said that Nick was the money man and would pay us later no problem. Driff told me about himself and how he was a journalist who had been a sports writer for the Sunday Mirror, worked for TalkSport and also 5 live ( I found out since that he does a free unpaid for write up in a fanzine for his beloved Liverpool )

Well alarm bells were ringing even more now as out of interest I googled his name and nothing came up of interest i.e sports columns or anything. I also contacted a friend of mine at the radio station and they had never heard of him. I had heard a few bad things off associates but like to make my own mind up on people and like I said before I felt it was worth my while going as at least we had a case against him for court and the Police if we didn’t get paid.
After the exhibition ended I said we will need to be paid shortly as we wanted to get off. He pointed to Nick and said no probs mate I will take you in the office with Nick in a couple of minutes after I’ve had a quick ciggy. I still wasn’t worried as Nick was happily sitting at the bar and relaxing with a few friends.
Come 20 mins later I went up to Nick and said I can’t wait any longer for Driff so is it OK if you take me in the Office and pay me? He looked genuinely shocked and said “what do you mean?” I said well you have my fee, again he looked shocked and said “No Driff was sorting that out for you it’s nothing to do with me” which I now know is true. He was shocked to the core and very embarrassed, he along with about 4 other people then tried to contact Driff who had obviously done a runner.
It then came to light all the “untruths” Driff had fed Nick and the old boys etc. Things like I have £200 for you in advance ticket money….. which never materialised, he told them 250 tickets had gone like a flash! 42 people were there.
I do not see me getting the money from Driff but after a chat with Nick he has assured me that the club will pay me any way, which would be a superb gesture. Unfortunately they will be out of pocket to the tune of about £1000 thanks to Driff, and this was to be a fundraiser for and on behalf of the Old Boys club.
The most shocking thing is that Nick lost his wife to Cancer last week and this scumbag Driff could treat him like this as well.
He has since left a voicemail and text me saying that it was all a mix up and the guy with the money left early, which is all total garbage.
John Driffield hold your head in shame you compete and utter conman.
I will let everyone know what happens about the money and of course Driff, who has picked on the wrong person this time.

I would so like to know what is happening about the Darts Exhibition with Dennis Priestley on Friday. ( The one that was changed from last Friday) Am I working or not? Please could John Driffield kindly let me or Mda Ward know as at the end of the day this is my livelihood and now only 2 days away. A straight answer would be wonderful PLEASE! I don’t like being mugged off!

John Driffield Just rang them mate, it is down as a ”Faster Payment” which clears same day, at latest 23:59 on the day! It left at 9 this morning, and they said to check hourly, as it will just show up! Hope this helps!
